Allulose Production Process
Health Garden’s Allulose is derived from non-GMO corn grown in South Korea. We endeavor to ensure that our ingredients are as pure and high-quality as possible, so we can provide you with an authentic, healthy product. Allulose is produced by fermenting the natural sugar found in corn, which is then purified and crystallized.
What is Allulose?
Allulose is a naturally occurring, low-energy, monosaccharide sugar found in several fruits and vegetables, including jackfruit, kiwi, figs, and raisins. Allulose is about 70% as sweet as sugar, does not affect blood sugar levels, and does not cause tooth decay! Containing just 10% of the calories of sugar and zero net carbs, allulose is a great sugar substitute! Allulose is quickly and efficiently metabolized by the body, yet only partially absorbed.
Will Allulose Cause Stomach Pain?
Allulose is a monosaccharide sugar, unlike other sugar substitutes which are sugar alcohols. Therefore, allulose does not cause gastric distress or have laxative effects the way sugar alcohols such as xylitol, maltitol, and sorbitol are known to do! Allulose may be a good choice for people with sensitive stomachs who are adversely affected by sweeteners made with sugar alcohol.
